Resident Evil: Degeneration Tokyo Game Show Trailer

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

Remember back In October I reported on Resident Evil: Degeneration, the full length CG movie based off the popular Capcom franchise. Well it seems they have released a new trailer for the movie at Tokyo Game Show 2008. The movie is scheduled for release in Japanese theaters on the 15th of October; no date for a western release has been given yet. I just hope that it turns out better than the Hollywood attempts at bringing the Resident Evil franchise to the big screen, take a look at the new trailer.

Resident Evil Degeneration

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Resident Evil: Degeneration is the first full-length CG animation feature based upon the Resident Evil series of games. It was announced by Capcom and Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan on October 29, 2007. It is currently in production, with plans for a release in 2008.

The story is set in autumn of 2005. Bioterrorists manage to release the T-Virus in a busy US airport. The release of the zombies leads to danger of an outbreak, prompting the government to send in Leon S Kennedy to neutralize the threat.

A Man Once A Superman

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

“A Man Who Was Superman” is a story about an unlikely “hero” played by Hwang who goes out of his way to help and rescue the planet by helping senior citizens cross the street and hand-standing in the middle of the road “to push away’” the detrimental effects of the suns rays. Jun plays the role of Song Su-jeong, a cynical documentary filmmaker who records his story.

Kryptonite is a fictional substance that weakens Superman’s powers in the original American comic series. In the movie, his character claims to have kryptonite stuck in his head, and when Song (Jun) discovers through an X-ray that there really is something in his brain, she knows she has the story of her life…

Breaking News

Maguire and Raimi to rekindle Spider-Man franchise

I for one am very excited. It has been rumored for weeks now, only to be confirmed earlier today. Well hopefully Raimi gets to have his way and not have villains thrown on him and shoved down his throat. I personally don’t believe the blame is entirely on him, just the studio wanting too much in so little time. Spider-Man, to me, is the greatest comic hero ever created. Yes, even above Big Blue or the Caped Crusader. His creation revolutionized how things were done. However, I digress. This is how Marvel will try and stay ahead of the game…especially with DC on the verge to bombard our cinemas with Wonder Woman, Green Lanter, Green Arrow, etc.

Would You Ban This Poster?

Friday, September 5th, 2008

The poster for naughty film maker Kevin Smith’s new movie, “Zack and Miri Make a Porno,” has been banned in the United States. It’s funny to me how a poster eluding to oral sex, in a humorous and goofy way, can get banned, while the randy teens on the new 90210 television show can actually SHOW a girl rising up from a guy’s lap after performing oral sex. Don’t the censors just drive you crazy?

Max Payne Movie Images

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

Well last night I downloaded the 1080P Hi-Definition trailer of the Max Payne theatrical trailer and at just under 170MB for two and a half minutes it was well worth the bandwidth used and I am now even more amped for the movie. So I took it upon myself to take a couple of screenshots from the trailer and post them here for you to take a look at. I unfortunately had to resize them as they where a bit big to post online but the quality is still excellent so go check it out. You can find more eye candy goodness here.

New Max Payne Theatrical Trailer

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Well I was a bit skeptical at first when I heard the news about the Max Payne movie that is currently in production staring Mark Wahlberg. Every time they make another movie adaptation of a game franchise I cringe at the thought of them fucking it up. The teaser trailer that was posted online also did not really convince me, but with this new theatrical trailer I am now totally convinced that this movie will not follow the same trend. And personally I cant wait for its release in October, check out the new trailer and see for yourself.

‘W.’ - Am I high on crazy pills or does this look good?!?

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Oliver Stone’s ‘W.’ is just around the corner…and I find myself really sold based on the cast alone. Check out the trailer for yourself.

I mean, I’m not a big fan of the man–but…the movie looks good. Now, discuss.

Beverly Hills Chihua-what-the-f@%k?!?

Would Walt Disney find the dismantling of Disney’s traditional animation studio in favor of producing junk like this more or less insulting than lining up the entire Anti-Defamation League to take a long piss on his cryogenically frozen corpse? Discuss.

The Watchmen Trailer: An Age-Old Issue

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

Spoiler Alert: but if you haven’t read Watchmen, why the heck not? I mean, speaking as someone who just read it for the first time herself, after years of being lectured about it, I can tell you honestly that they were all right, everyone who said these words to me.

The Watchmen trailer is beautiful, a comic fan’s wet dream—it’s lush and dark and brooding and scary, and the world is perfect. It gives away a little too much, but that’s not my biggest complaint.

It rubbed me the wrong way only for one reason—the ages are all wrong.

Preview & Review: Halloween: 30 Years of Terror from Devil’s Due

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

John Carpenter’s ‘Halloween’ is my favorite movie of all time. Nothing in cinematic history comes remotely close to my love of all things ‘the Shape’; so, you can imagine that I took very special interest when Devil’s Due revealed earlier this year that they would be working together with writer Stefan Hutchinson and Malek Akkad of Compass International Films (a subsidiary of Trancas International Films, Inc.) to produce new Halloween material for fans of the franchise and horror comic fans alike.

Capes abound! A quasi-debate.

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

It’s no secret that Warner Bros. is sitting a superhero goldmine, but has so much trouble getting their material out there. That could soon change, as Warners is readying to revamp how DC’s properties are developed — changes that could be announced within the next month. This article really intrigues me. It’s interesting that they decide this now after Marvel has been doing it for about a decade now. Not all of Marvel films have been as successful and DC knows what failure of a possible franchise-starter feels like (Catwoman) as well as a multi-million dollar reboot (Superman Returns) crash to the ground. Though things could be looking up.
