If You Don’t Know, Now You Know..

Monday, May 19th, 2008

Hip-Hop hilarity…from the verbally quick witted trio known as Ugly Duckling! (A little dated as the vid is from 2003’s Taste The Secret album. But, a classic piece of hip-hop nonetheless, that I’m sure only a handful of people have ever seen!) Enjoy: The Drive Thru

And if you don’t know, now you know..

WWE Judgment Day PPV Review - 5/18/08 - Omaha, NE

I’m a bit bummed out… WWE’s commie lawyers must have scoured YouTube looking for copyright videos at 4:00 am, because I can’t find a lick of footage on the thing. I mean, yeah, it’s their “intellectual property” and all, but just how “intellectual” is it?

Here’s a pop quiz–Triple H is:

A) Auditioning for the lead role in the remake of Shocker.

B) Visiting Nick Bollea in prison and bringing back some souvenirs.

C) Bringing back the Nailz gimmick.

You decide!

The Russ Knows Just a Little Bit About Old School

Friday, May 16th, 2008

I must preface this by saying that the only reason I probably would ever have been interested in this song is because The Rock was in it, but after listening to it again this morning, you got to love a song that can borrow from Ricky Martin and John Denver at the same time.

The video quality isn’t so great, but enjoy… this is one of my kitschy favorites. I forgot at the end that Rock laid the smack down on the big guy.

P.S. If anybody can find me a video of Rock telling The Coach to dance the Charleston, I would love to see it. The closest video of that era that I can find on YouTube is when Rock told Coach he wasn’t praying right when he said, “What up, G?” and then Rock’s eyes got all bulgy and he literally kicked Coach’s ass out of the picture.

Oldies but Goodies!

These smile-inducing renderings by the talented Donald Soffritti - who has created a whole series of art pieces depicting classic superheroes as old timers - are pure pop culture fun! Aw, the ravages of time, no one - not even Aguaman - can escape!

Playstation 3’s Thumb Envy

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

This ad for the Playstation 3 is quite possibly the most disturbing and very, very, very horrific ad I have ever seen. Penis envy is one thing but video-game-thumb envy? Barf-o-rama! I am not sure who this ad is targeted to, but count me out!

Enjoy this so very NSFW ad yourself

Can Wizard Magazine BE anymore sexist?

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Blah, Wizard Mag just celebrated their 200th issue and you’d think after such an achievement some semblance of maturity and, I dunno, maybe respect would come along with such a milestone? Naw, such high-level concepts don’t apply to the frat-boy “dudes” running Wizard.

Not only did Wonder Woman come in at a lowly #15 in Wizard’s list of the 200 greatest characters for all time (15? Really? Behind mother fraking Jesse Custer? C’mon), but the good old boys compiling the list just couldn’t help but make a sexual comment about the beloved grand dame of comics before they even try to venture writing anything resembling respect for the character’s greatness.

TNA Sacrifice PPV Review - 5/11/08 - Orlando, FL

sacrifice08.JPG

Results from Gerweck.net

TNA had a show last night? Yawwwwwwwwwwwwn… Really? I guess I hadn’t been paying attention to them since the last turkey they dropped.

They opened the show with Jeremy Boring hassling Kurt Angle about the neck injury he suffered overseas last weekend in South Korea. Angle said that his doctor told him not to compete. Be careful, Kurt… that’s what got Torrie Wilson fired. Angle also dropped a bunch of WWE trademarks into his lingo.

Meanwhile, one of TNA’s random broads hassled Scott Steiner about Angle’s injury when he arrived, and Steiner was happy. Kevin Nash also got out of his limo. Then, Jeremy Boring hassles Samoa Joe as he got out of his limo (no wonder TNA has astronomical travel expenses), and he was bummed out about Angle’s injury, but when he found out about Nash riding with Steiner, he got angry… why? Because Nash pays up to stock the wet bar in the limo.
