Mariah Overthrows Elvis

Mariah Carey now has more #1 songs on the Hot 100 than Elvis.

That’s right. Mariah Carey.

Amazingly, that now makes her the NUMBER ONE solo artist and SECOND on the all-time list. She’s behind only The Beatles.

Speaking on behalf of all of us at ShotgunReviews.com, I now implore Mariah Carey: Please, Mariah. Please don’t pass The Beatles. Even you know that would be wrong. Capital-W Wrong. Wrong on an epic scale. An Epic Wrong that would eclipse both a shirtless George W. Bush dancing to “Never Gonna Give You Up” at the Republican National Convention and Highlander 2 (and/or Anne Rice writing about Jesus).

If there’s any way that we can convince you to stop now and leave The Beatles intact, please let us know. I would gladly lend you Lucas for a week (and for that, Janelle, I am truly, truly sorry). Remember: Early retirement isn’t so bad. Just ask Jay-Z. Okay, bad example. Just ask Mase.

    By the way, The Beatles lost all credibility when that song they sold to Michael Jackson got sold to the Frenchies at Target. I don’t know what’s beyond that in sales (the Chant album, maybe?), but I guess I’d still rather look at her there than Ringo.
